RISE Summer Research Symposium- Scholar Poster Session and Keynote Address

The culminating event of the RISE program includes student-led poster sessions, a keynote speech by a prominent researcher, and networking activities. Mini-Symposium– Scholar 5 Minute Presentation Competition (5MP)

The 5 Minute Presentation (5MP) is modeled after the acclaimed national and international 3MT (3 Minute Thesis) competition. 3MT prepares students to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively to both specialists and non-specialists and promotes engagement across disciplines. Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students

(ABRCMS) 2018

Date: Wednesday, November 14 to Saturday, November 17 

Location: 100 South Capitol, Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, Indiana

ABRCMS welcomes students interested in biomedical research to attend. This is "one of the largest communities of underrepresented minorities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Students attend this conference to present their research, enhance professional development skills, explore graduate schools, and network. Research faculty and program directors play an essential role in mentoring students and learning strategies for facilitating student success" (http://www.abrcms.org/). Society Advancing Chicanos/Hispanics & Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) Conference

Date: Thursday, October 11 to Saturday October 13th, 2018
